Lyn Walkington

BARRISTER

Lyn graduated from Waikato University in 2003 with LLB Hons (first class). Prior to graduation Lyn worked for approximately 18 months, part-time, with Till Henderson King, Hamilton Branch, in their ACC team.

Following graduation Lyn took up a full-time position as Staff Solicitor in the Till Henderson King commercial/property/civil team, working primarily in conveyancing, leases, trusts and other related property type issues. A change in the firm’s team structure led to Lyn being responsible to Till Henderson’s Criminal Law Partner, and as well as continuing with property/commercial related work she also assisted in preparation and research for a number of very large criminal trials. As a result Lyn gravitated towards a practice in criminal law, following which she went to the independent bar and joined Thomas Sutcliffe, Barrister, in late 2005.

Lyn has her own practice focussing on Criminal and transport related work and continues to provide research support in both the high level trial and appellate work undertaken by Mr Sutcliffe. This role also extends to relationship property work undertaken by Mr Sutcliffe.
