Kaleb Whyte
BARRISTER
Kaleb Whyte is an experienced lawyer with a diverse background in civil litigation and criminal prosecutions.
Beginning his career as a civil litigator, Kaleb later transitioned to the Crown in Hamilton where he prosecuted serious crime and handled cases for the Commissioner of Police (in asset recovery matters), Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
Over the course of his five-year tenure as a Crown prosecutor, he has conducted numerous hearings in both the District and High Courts, including lengthy, multi-accused jury trials. His jury trial experience includes complex dishonesty, serious violence, firearms, aggravated robberies, indecent assaults and dealing in drugs such as methamphetamine, MDMA and cannabis. As a barrister, he has also represented clients on other matters including minor assaults, burglary, and driving offences such drink driving or excess breath/blood alcohol.
With a wealth of experience in both civil and criminal litigation, Kaleb is well-equipped to handle a broad range of legal matters. As a former prosecutor, he is adept at identifying weaknesses in the prosecution’s case, such as inconsistencies or gaps in evidence. Moreover, Kaleb’s experience has given him an understanding of the criminal justice system and how it operates, which he can use to navigate the complexities of the legal process and ensure his clients receive a fair and just trial.
Whether representing clients in civil disputes or defending them against criminal charges, Kaleb works tirelessly to provide high-quality legal representation while advocating for his clients’ rights throughout the legal process.
